What makes this the double version?

The corners. A double rail configuration puts two rails at each corner junction instead of one, and heavy-duty corner bracing is bolted across every junction on top of that. The corner is where racking load concentrates in a large timber frame, and doubling the rail depth at that point is what keeps the structure square over time. The sculpted ends and general appearance are the same as the standard garden model.

Is this the right model for a hot tub?

Yes, and it is the model most people choose for that use. A hot tub creates a persistent live load on the structure if anyone leans on the frame, and a roofed structure over a hot tub catches wind. The double rail corners and bracing are there specifically to hold the frame square under those conditions. The standard garden model handles a seating area well but the double version is the safer choice for a hot tub.

What sizes are available?

Does it need fixing to the ground?

Yes, and more so than an open pergola. The additional corner mass makes this structure heavier and more wind-resistant, but a roofed version in an exposed garden needs posts properly fixed. Bolt-down feet work on hard surfaces. Concreting in is the more secure option once a polycarbonate roof is on.

How does it differ from the double garden with decking?

This version arrives without a decking base. The posts fix to an existing surface — patio, decking, lawn, or concrete pad. The version with decking includes an integrated timber platform that arrives with the frame, so there is no patio or deck to lay first. The structural frame is the same on both.
